The University of Alaska Fairbanks is a public land, sea, and space grant university in Fairbanks, Alaska and a flagship campus of the University of Alaska system. As the principal reasearch center for the statewide university system, UAF is home to several major research units such as the Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, Geophysical Institute, and the Institute of Northern Engineering. In 2018-2019, 47% of students who received a bachelor's degree also completed a research, thesis, or honors project. UAF is also home to the Poker Flat Research Range, the largest land-based rocket research range in the world.
