The University of Idaho is a public land-grant research university in Moscow, Idaho. It is the state's land-grant and primary research university, and the lead university in the Idaho Space Grant Consortium. Established in 1889, the university's research-driven values began in agriculture, engineering, and military science and has since expanded to other areas such as healthcare, cybersecurity, and fire science. The University of Idaho generates 74% of all research money in the state, with over $113 million in research expenditures. Two out of three undergraduate students participate in hands-on research.
