Get started with Robotics at Penn State University - OriginLabs

OriginLabs is Penn State's newest prototyping and product development facility, serving the entire university and the community at large. Our labs encompass 7,000 sq. feet of woodworking, metalworking, digital fabrication equipment, including additive manufacturing, CNC, and collaborative robotics. Users can elect a hands-on approach through a "makerspace membership," or contract our staff through the Service Bureau.

With generous support from the Appalachian Regional Commission, OriginLabs is hosting a series of cost-free workshops on advanced manufacturing technologies entitled RAAMP: Realizing Automated and Advanced Manufacturing Processes. These 3 - 5 hour crash courses take place on Saturdays and provide an introduction to potential use-cases, basic equipment operation overview, and hands-on experience geared toward an absolute novice. Technologies presented include collaborative robotics, additive manufacturing, laser scanning/CMM, and CNC metal fabrication.
