Founded in 1883, Jacksonville State offers programs of study in six academic schools leading to bachelor's, master's, education specialist, and doctorate degrees in addition to certificate programs and continuing education opportunities. Through Jacksonville State's six academic schools, Jacksonville State offers career-centered programs to prepare for certain workforces. If you are interested in helping to solve the manufacturing challenges of the 21st century such as workplace safety, industrial automation, control systems, and effective industrial leadership, then the Department of Applied Engineering is the place for you. At JSU, we prioritize the excellence of our applied engineering program and we achieve this through small classes taught by faculty (not graduate students), high faculty-student interaction, and an emphasis on industrial application of engineering theory.
