Associate in Arts (A.A.) or Associate in Science (A.S.) degrees are designed for students who plan to attend a senior institution for further study, but they are also suitable for anyone wishing to continue their academic education beyond the high school level. The degrees are offered in any of several academic concentrations. Also, an Associate in Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.), or Short-Term Certificates can be earned for completing certain requirements in certain career technical programs. Students planning to transfer to a public senior institution in the State of Alabama should obtain and follow a transfer guide, which is available from the Articulation and General Studies Committee's STARS web site.
