UMT is chartered by the State Council of Higher Education of Virginia (SCHEV) and accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). UMT's degree programs in project management are also accredited by the Global Accreditation Center (GAC) of the Project Management Institute (PMI). UMT is an institutional member of the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and a Global Registered Education Provider of PMI.
