Get started with Robotics at Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing

Founded in 2011 under a public-private partnership, the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM – pronounced: see-KAM) is an applied research center and not-for-profit 501c3 with membership from industry, university and government. CCAM is an economic development project dating back to 2007 when the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, University of Virginia and Virginia Tech participated in a joint proposal to bring Rolls-Royce’s engine manufacturing factory to Virginia. They succeeded, and four years later, adjacent to Rolls-Royce’s campus, CCAM opened its doors as a resource for regional manufacturers to improve their manufacturing capabilities.
